Windows Vista: Is It Really Done?
Tuesday, November 28th, 2006
For many PC users, Windows XP is an operating system that is beginning to feel like it’s been around
forever. It’s becoming dated, and it shows. Windows Vista will be the first complete update to Windows since Windows XP was released in 2001, so we’re talking about experiencing five years of the same thing. With the rate at which technology advances, this release schedule just doesn’t cut it.
I mean, just think back on some of the things that have become extremely popular over the last five years. Right off the top of my head, I can think of blogging, podcasting, RSS, high-definition video and improved web development styles. Windows XP has sat stagnant while all of these changes have been going on, so it’s going to be nice for Windows users to finally receive a new OS that is timelier for what’s going on now. Like many others, I’m hoping that the version of Windows that is released after Vista doesn’t arrive in such a tardy way. OSWeekly.com - Windows Vista: Is It Really Done?
