Windows Vista better, but not a breakthrough
Friday, June 30th, 2006
There are three important questions surrounding Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Vista operating
system, and I’m willing to give the answers.
Question one: Is there enough sizzle in Vista, due in January at the earliest, to trigger a spike in personal computer sales?
No.
Question two: Is Vista good enough to prevent defections from the Windows camp, which represents 90 percent of the PC market?
Yes.
Question three: Should you switch to Vista?
Yes, but you don’t need to rush.
Microsoft is going to great lengths to promote Vista, including flying product managers around the country to brief technology journalists. MercuryNews.com | 06/29/2006 | Windows Vista better, but not a breakthrough
