Windows Vista: Beefing up security
Sunday, July 2nd, 2006
Vista will replace the XP generation of operating systems and its beta code alone shows many
changes which have the potential to make it easier to use your computer. Vista will deliver flashy graphics and many new elements that could be called decorating, but there is much more to the new system than Windows dressing.
Vista might make some spyware and security software redundant as it addresses these issues in depth. You might have seen the Microsoft antispyware tool Windows Defender. Vista will incorporate a variety of measures that follow up from where Defender began.
Vista is not a direct development of XP when it comes to security. Instead, Microsoft has wisely used Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 as the core of Vista’s code, as it is inherently more secure. Beefing up security | The Courier-Mail
