THE trial version of Microsoft’s long-awaited operating system, Windows Vista, is available for use Windows Vista 6.jpgand curious computer users are already putting the system through its paces. More than 10,000 users are testing the beta version of Microsoft’s new operating system to discover what it is really like to work with, below is a sneak peek.

For starters, Vista is designed to simplify the way you use the operating system. Vista focuses on taking the folders, jargon and more complex operating system-specific commands out of the experience.

Instead, you deal more directly with the content or programs with which you are working. You can explore your computer’s contents in the same way if you prefer, but the new, more powerful search system does away with the need to scour the minutiae of each folder and file.

For example, you could search for a document or item used recently and Vista will separate the wheat from the chaff to deliver what you need. Vista is adept at this and users will appreciate the improved speed of searches and the way its desktop search tool scours all reaches of the hard drive. Vista lands softly | The Courier-Mail
