The big question: Should you upgrade to Windows Vista?
Friday, November 10th, 2006
With yesterday’s release to manufacturing of Windows Vista, PC enthusiasts now begin serious
ruminations over a question they’ll need to answer come January, when the operating system will appear on store shelves:
Should I upgrade my it’s-working-just-fine computer from Windows XP to Windows Vista?
Even though I’ve been playing with beta and release-candidate versions of Vista for some time, I still haven’t decided what to do for the PCs in my home, including my own personal desktop, now that Vista’s done.
Right now, my PC has three hard drives, with XP on one and different versions of Vista on the other two. At this point I am not planning on losing the XP setup by overwriting it with a Vista upgrade, although as a reviewer, it’s something I really should do.
But, after reading a couple of posts on the Web, I’m going to hold off for now, and that’s what I’m recommending to my readers, as well. TechBlog: The big question: Should you upgrade to Windows Vista?
