Mobile PC Power Play in Windows Vista

Most computer users are familar with the adjective "power". "I want a more 
powerful PC," where the power refers to the highest achievable speed and performance for the system that is possible at that time. Power users use power PCs.
Today’s power users are mobile PC users, and mobile PC users are concerned about power the noun, as in energy. A user’s steps to manage power do not stop with connecting that power cord to the AC adapter and then to the wall outlet. Nope. You get to manage the battery aspect also. How often do you check the battery meter when the charge gets below the 1 hour mark? Like with a tank of gas when it gets below the 1/2 mark, the needle drops rapidly. (Or for the less compulsive, 1/4 tank.)
With Windows XP, you have the little power meter in the system tray, but for the most part, the ways you can manage the battery power vary from OEM utility to OEM utility. Windows Vista offers a more uniform approach. You can still monitor the power level in the system tray, and also have the option of changing settings by right clicking.
