Microsoft bows to pressure from EU

Bending to pressure from European regulators, Microsoft, the world’s largest software maker, Windows Vista 25.jpgsaid on Friday that it would change its new Windows Vista operating system to address complaints from competitors and eliminate regulatory hurdles that could have delayed the software’s introduction in Europe.

Analysts said that the move signified a turning point in the strategy of the 31- year-old company, which long had drawn complaints about its practice of bundling new features into Windows, the software that runs about 95 percent of all personal computers.
