Microsoft’s recently released operating system, Windows Vista, will have up to 50 percent fewer Critical bugs and 30 percent fewer Important bugs as Windows XP Service Pack 2 over a two-year period, Michael Howard, security program manager for the software giant, predicted in a blog posting published last week.

A vulnerability that affects four of Microsoft’s operating systems, including Vista, doesn’t appear to pose a great risk, according to one security vendor. Serious Bug Delays Vista RTM

At least two news outlets are citing sources claiming the final version of Windows Vista has been delayed at least a week due to a bug which could crash a system that was upgraded from Windows XP. The bug was found in build 5824, said to be the "release to manufacturing" build.
